Sperlari Torrone Classico Alla Mondorla is one of the traditional sweet biscuit for the Holiday season. This is the Italian version of Nougat, a bar made with egg white, honey, and toasted almonds, and flavored with different extracts, spices or liquors. The best-known torrone originated in Cremona, where the best producers are found. In Abruzzo, a softer torrone contains chocolate, in Sicily there are two torroni, one containing candied fruits and the other containing sesame seeds, while the torrone of Calabria is made with the excellent local Hazelnuts, honey, and often figs. Contains nuts. |
